Lead from the Front

Marianne’s horizons for the arts are ever-expanding. She leads from the front, seeking to improve, upskill, streamline and innovate for arts organisations; to lift the community’s understanding of the value of the arts in defining society and culture. With training in Corporate Governance and outstanding communication skills, Marianne continues to make a significant contribution to a number of organisations:

Marianne currently serves on the Boards of the Music Education Alliance Victoria, the Victorian Music Teachers’ Association and on the State Chapter of the Australian National Choral Association. Marianne was previously President of ANCA Vic-Tas, overseeing the re-formation and growth of the Chapter, the financially successful running of the national Sing Out Conference in Melbourne and, as previous National Councillor for ANCA, the re-writing of the organisation's Constitution.

“I worked closely with Marianne when I chaired the Music Education Alliance Victoria (MEAV). In her role as a MEAV Board Member, Marianne demonstrated a high level of commitment and professionalism, and played a key advocacy role in lobbying to government. Marianne was instrumental in engaging with high profile Victorian Members of Parliament, and communicating the challenges faced by the music education sector during COVID-19 and more broadly. Her exemplary written and verbal communication skills were highly effective when drafting letters and documents, and when liaising with key influencers and stakeholders.”
Genevieve Newton, Former CEO, Victorian Music Teachers’ Association I MEAV Board Member (August 2021)

"Marianne is a brilliant and highly organized individual, able with ease to synthesize countless details into a logical and coherent whole. Marianne was highly involved in planning and producing both Choralfest 2015 and the ANCA National Masterclass Tour in 2016. Every event proceeded without a hitch and Marianne's presence was engaging, welcoming, focused, attuned to individuals and the group as a whole, and elegant in every regard. It was clear to me that Marianne is respected for her warm personality, her high degree of knowledge and skill, and her organisational savvy."

Michael Fulcher, Vice-President, ANCA National Council
